It's not the fear of falling. It's the hour after, when no one knows about it.

You're on the go, at the office, on vacation. And yet, you have that one person on your mind.

An emergency bracelet doesn't prevent someone from falling. It changes how long it takes until you find out.

Why emergency home systems and smartwatches reach their limits here

One in three people over 65 falls once a year. Most get back up, but how quickly someone finds out is crucial. This is precisely where home emergency call systems and smartwatches fall short:

Flexible emergency call chain: With the Plus tariff, you can set in the app whether the 24/7 Bosch emergency call centre accepts the emergency call immediately or only if none of your emergency contacts can be reached. Can be changed at any time. Information on third-party systems is category-specific and may vary depending on the provider.

Gardia is an emergency bracelet with automatic fall detection. It has its own built-in mobile connection and therefore works everywhere, indoors and outdoors.

If it detects a fall, it alerts your relatives. You can then speak directly to your mother via the bracelet, without her having to reach for a phone.

My 90-year-old mother is getting on well with the bracelet, thanks to its simple operation. The call is not limited to the apartment, but can be triggered anywhere.

What happens in an emergency, step by step

  1. Second 0The fall detection detects the fall and automatically triggers. Or your mother holds the permanently installed emergency button for three seconds.
  2. Second 0 to 20The bracelet vibrates, flashes, and beeps. In this window, the emergency call can be canceled: press and hold the emergency button for three seconds.
  3. Second 20No cancellation: The emergency call goes out to your emergency contacts via the My Gardia app. Your location is being transmitted now, and only now.
  4. After thatYour emergency contacts can speak directly to the bracelet via the app or have themselves navigated to the location. With the Plus subscription, the 24/7 emergency call centre is also included: either only if no contact is available, or right from the start.

Who is alerted depends on the plan. In the Basic, emergency calls go to your stored relatives. With Plus, the 24/7 Bosch emergency call centre is added.

For the emergency call centre, you can set one of two behaviors in the app:

If contacts are unavailable: Your relatives are called first. Only if no one can be reached, does not answer or declines the call, the emergency call goes to the emergency call centre.
Answer immediately: The emergency call centre takes the emergency call directly. Useful if no one in the family can answer the phone during the day.

You can change this at any time.

A false alarm is no big deal

The bracelet vibrates, flashes, and beeps for twenty seconds before anything is sent out. During this time, pressing the emergency button for three seconds cancels the alarm. So, an accidental alarm only costs a button press, nothing more.

The process in three steps

Gardia bracelet detects a fall
1

Fall detected

The bracelet automatically detects a possible fall, or the emergency button is pressed.

Voice connection directly via the bracelet
2

Speaking Without a Phone

The speaker and microphone are in the bracelet. No one has to reach for a phone.

Relatives and the emergency call centre will be notified
3

Help will be called

The stored contacts will be notified, with your location, or the 24/7 emergency call centre will be contacted directly.

How reliably does the bracelet detect a fall?

A false alarm costs twenty seconds and a push of a button. An undetected fall costs hours. That's why the system is deliberately set to be rather too sensitive than too insensitive.

You set the sensitivity yourself. In the My Gardia App, fall detection can be made more or less sensitive, depending on how the bracelet behaves in your mother's everyday life. This can also be changed at any time.

And if she can no longer cancel the alarm? Then it will go off. That's exactly what it's for.

How fall detection works

  • Three sensors working together result in more robust detection than with a single accelerometer
  • Neural networks decide whether an event is a fall or everyday activity, trained with simulated fall types
  • Wake-up function: evaluation only starts with critical events, which saves battery life
  • Sensitivity of fall detection adjustable in the My Gardia app, can be changed at any time
  • 20-second window to cancel, after which the emergency call is automatically sent

The most important question: Will she even wear it?

Gardia bracelet on the wrist, a simple black bracelet with no emergency call look

You can buy the best emergency call system in the world. If it's in a drawer, it's useless. That's why this isn't a design question.

It's a simple bracelet and isn't conspicuous. No red field, no cross, nothing to indicate an emergency call. No one at the supermarket sees that she's wearing an emergency call system.

55 g, casing 55 × 29 × 16 mm, medical silicone, hypoallergenic.

IP67 waterproof, it stays on in the shower. That's exactly where neck pendants fail: they're taken off and not put back on. And many falls happen in the bathroom.

Up to 21-day battery life, charging time under two hours. No daily ritual that reminds one of being in need of care.

It's not a care device. It's the reason she continues to go shopping alone.

The style is very good and it wears like a digital watch, going unnoticed.

Helmut Schmidt, July 2025

This bracelet is comfortable to wear, light, and pleasant. The battery lasts a long time without needing to be charged.

You set it up, even from 400 kilometers away

You place the order, and the bracelet comes to you or directly to your parents. No technician appointment is needed: the eSIM is active from the factory, with no mobile phone contract, no Wi-Fi, and no base station.

You can do everything in advance as soon as the package is on its way. The link in the shipping email leads to our web portal, accessible via browser or mobile phone: create an account, enter payment details, and add emergency contacts. This sets up the bracelet in advance. When it arrives, it just needs to be placed in the charging cradle once, and then it's ready for use.

However, you can also wait until the bracelet arrives and do everything at once via the My Gardia app.

That's part of the furnishing

The box contains the bracelet, magnetic charging station, USB cable, and power adapter.

Fast delivery, easy setup, simple strap with long battery life. Uncomplicated and really well received.

What it costs

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the bracelet work in basements and rural areas?

The bracelet contains a permanently installed Spanish eSIM. It is not tied to a single German provider but uses multiple networks in each connected country and always accesses the best available one. This is precisely what ensures coverage, especially in rural areas where a single network has gaps.

A prerequisite is mobile phone reception at the location. A basement or an underground car park without any reception remains a limitation that every mobile emergency call system has.

Does it work on vacation and in other European countries?

Yes. The permanently installed Spanish eSIM works almost throughout Europe and automatically connects to the best available network everywhere. It does not require an additional contract or any changes. The bracelet works in your allotment garden as well as at your holiday destination.

What happens when the battery is empty?

The bracelet warns in advance. It indicates a low battery level itself, and at the same time, a charging reminder is sent to the registered relatives via the My Gardia app. This way, even someone who isn't standing next to it will notice.

To charge the bracelet, it is placed on the magnetic charging station; charging time is under two hours. With a battery life of up to 21 days, this is not a daily ritual.

Can multiple relatives be notified simultaneously?

Yes. You can store up to six emergency contacts in the My Gardia app. In the event of an emergency call, all contacts receive the alarm simultaneously; no one is called sequentially.

From the alarm screen, anyone can directly call the bracelet and speak with your mother. The others will see in the app under "Messages" who was faster, and you can coordinate in the family chat who will go there and who will stay online.

With the Plus tariff, the 24/7 emergency call centre is added, either only if none of the contacts are reachable or from the very beginning.

Warranty, repair, and replacement device?

The bracelet comes with a continuous warranty. If a device breaks, it will be replaced, so you will not be left without an emergency call system.

For questions about technology or setup, customer service is available by phone, Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 0800 0003692 or by email at support@gardia.net.

Does my mother need a smartphone or Wi-Fi?

No. The bracelet has its own mobile connection via the integrated eSIM. It requires neither Wi-Fi nor a smartphone, nor a base station in the home. The My Gardia App runs on your device, not hers.

Easy to use, understandable app, all functions at an absolutely unbeatable price.

Waldemar Lebok, August 2025

As a master auto mechanic, I'm usually very skeptical and critical. I'm giving Gardia 5 stars here.

Anonymous, September 2025

The system perfectly matches our expectations, not overloaded with features but limited to the essentials.
