Common questions.

How does automatic fall detection work?

The Gardia emergency bracelet uses the self-developed FallGuard technology to detect falls immediately. Unlike conventional fall detection technologies, it is specially adapted to the movement profile of older people and reliably detects even minor falls. Using various sensors and real data, it precisely detects falls and automatically triggers an emergency call – even if you are no longer able to press the button.

What if it goes off by mistake?

The bracelet vibrates and emits loud tones so that you immediately notice the alarm. In case of a false alarm, you can cancel the emergency call directly on the bracelet within 20 seconds – real emergencies will still be reliably reported.

Is fall detection reimbursable by the long-term care insurance?

The monthly costs for the Gardia subscription can be covered by the long-term care insurance fund from care level 1 – with an out-of-pocket contribution starting at €0.

Can I wear it outdoors?

Yes, the Gardia emergency bracelet is robust, waterproof and suitable for everyday use, both indoors and outdoors. It protects you reliably – at home, on the go or while walking, almost anywhere in Europe.

Can I use the bracelet without a plan?

The bracelet itself has limited functionality without a plan. Emergency calls, GPS, and app connectivity require an active SIM connection, which is provided through the monthly plan.
